Personal site of Chris Betz (also known as Christopher Betz). Currently Head of Engineering at [Altitude](https://joinaltitude.com), which builds a clinical intelligence platform for chronic condition management. Two decades building healthcare software; previously CTO of aptihealth, CTO of New Ocean Health for nine years, and leader of 30+ engineers at Brightside Health. Based in Media, Pennsylvania (Philadelphia area). This site is a portfolio of selected work and a blog.

Every blog post and portfolio item has a clean markdown variant at `<page-url>/raw.md` (e.g. `/blog/foo/raw.md`). The HTML version also advertises this via `<link rel="alternate" type="text/markdown">`.

I re-parsed PECO's filed tariff with an LLM, checked it against a real bill, and an open engine reproduces the total to 0.0007% once it has the other half: generation, transmission, and riders.
- [Same brain, two pairs of eyes: comparing two AI-agent browser harnesses on the same model](https://www.cbetz.com/blog/same-brain-two-pairs-of-eyes): I fixed the model (Claude Opus 4.8) and varied only the agent harness, Claude computer-use against browser-use, on the same web tasks; neither wins everywhere, and the reason is the perception substrate (pixels vs. the DOM), not the model.
